The boat was build for the famous piano player comedian Victor Borge. In 1998, the twin inboard diesels were removed and replaced with two NEW CATERPILLAR FRESH WATER COOLED 800 HP MOTORS. Mr. Borge, wanted a higher turn of speed and the new engines produced a top speed more than 10 knots higher than the previous engines.. This vessel can cruise at 15 knots easily and has a top speed of over 27 knots.
After Mr. Borge passed away, in Decemberr of 2000, the boat remained berthed in his marina until until 2007 and was rarely used by the estate. Subsequently the vessel was transferred to Minneford Marina on City Island where it was kept covered on land storage until the end of winter 2014. During 2014 the vessel was upgraded with a wide variety of upgrades whose cost amounted to $90,000+. These upgrades put the vessel in really spotless condition.
The electronics were upgraded d to new Raymarine chartplotters and radar. The interior cabins were redecorated with new pile carpeting, new window treatments and blinds, new refrigerator, new bimini canvas, new Pirelli tile flooring for the bridge deck, all new vinyl bridge upholstery and many other upgrades that put the vessel into truly nice condition..
THE ENGINES that were installed in 1998 have less than 800 original hours on them and have a survey from Caterpillar that affirms their excellent condition. The vessel itself has never been damaged and has never had any damage caused by water intrusion. The entire hull and topsides, deck and bridge are in near factory like new condition.
